Amby Burfoot, Editor-at-Large: Runners World Magazine: A Marathon Winner in 1968, Amby is well loved and regarded by the running world. His new book "First Ladies of Running: The Rebels, Rule Breakers, and Visionaries Who Changed the Sport Forever," (release date April 5th) will focus on 22 of the most distinguished female runners and Bobbi Gibb will be prominently featured. Amby is working behind the scenes to celebrate Bobbi and will kick this off at his upcoming panel discussion, Feb 12th at the Los Angeles Olympic trials. See Amby's post on Bobbi Gibb! Tim Kilduff: Executive Director & Foundation Founder of the 26.2 Foundation (DBA Hopinkton Athletic Association): As Race Director for the Boston Marathon from 1983-84, he organized and led a small team that saved the Marathon, during a period of operational and financial crisis, and ensured the success it enjoys today. His contributions to the Marathon have continued for 30 years in creative ways including, broadcasting, fundraising, and non-profit development with each effort enhancing the Boston Marathon. Under Tim's direction, Hopkinton has installed and has oversight over public art related to the Boston Marathon and marathon history. Tim fully shares Bobbi's vision to create the life size female runner on the Marathon course and 26.2 will provide the framework for this project.
- 2008 The Foundation is recognized as the owner and caretaker of the statue of Stylianos Kyriakides that sits at the 1-mile mark of the Boston Marathon at Weston Nurseries (who donated the land for the statue). The statue commemorates his win in the 1946 Boston Marathon and how he used his celebrity and media visibility to save millions of Greek citizens who were starving in Greece after the Nazi occupation. Statue was donated by New Balance corporation. Sculptor Mico Kaufman.

Matt Taylor: CEO and Co-Founder Tracksmith: Matt's team is fully behind the Bobbi Gibb celebration. Stay tuned for details of the important role that Tracksmith will play in promoting her important place in running and in the Art world.

Jan Kraft, administrative assistant and creator/director, Leaving Lightly: Getting your Affairs in Order So Only Love is Left Behind. Jan has worked with Bobbi over the years on her various projects and created this website for Bobbi to help spread the word on Bobbi's accomplishments.

The Boston Athletic Association: represented by Tom Grilk and his team will be honoring Bobbi this April 18th. Stay tuned for details on the official Marathon celebrations.

2016 will mark the 31st year of John Hancock's landmark sponsorship of the legendary Boston Marathon. John Hancock's continued support of the Boston Athletic Association, which has directed the race since 1897, ensures the stability of the world's oldest annual marathon. Along with the BAA, John Hancock will recognize Bobbi as an Elite Athlete Ambassador at a series of special events in April.

Amanda Abizaid: Singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, model and actress; these are just a few of Amanda’s many given talents. Currently she is involved in an amazing musical effort that combines her passions of music and global awareness. Abizaid Publishing helps to raise public awareness for the young women and children in the communities in and around Clark, Philippines (www.helpphilippineschools.org) by bringing the east and west together through song; working with the children to help further their education through songwriting techniques and through teaching them how to become self-sufficient in their communities as they grow to become adults.

Candace Wheeler has been a Town Administrator for the Town of Hamilton, MA, and currently serves on Gloucester’s Clean Energy Commission. A member of Bobbi's family, Candace is also a fellow artist (a silk painter at Ten Pound Studio in Gloucester) and supporter of the arts (a grant-writer for Gloucester Stage Company). She joins the team to help draw local attention to the sculpture fund and Bobbi’s art.
